Leaflets
The Rowntree Walk described in our leaflet shows aspects of York which other tours don’t reach. It focuses on 19th and early 20th century York; on its chocolate factories, its Irish immigration, its poverty, and the ways in which the Rowntree family tried to change things for the better. And it includes the place where Joseph was born, and the houses where he and his family lived. The full walk might take some three hours to complete, but you can do sections of it, or take a break in the middle. You can buy a ‘glossy’ copy of the 8-page multi-coloured leaflet at the outlets listed below (£1 each) or from us. (There are generous discounts for bulk purchases).
